As a teacher, I spend a large amount of time at my painting table during the summer. This summer was no exception and looking back at photos, I got quite a bit completed and worked on some really great kits.
First up was to finish my High Elf Lord. Wish I had know about round bases for Age of Sigmar, because I would have swapped it out when I was working on finishing him up. Will have to do that another day.
In addition to the Lord, I finished the Mage. This model has so much depth to it and is really one of the more dynamic plastic models you will see. Round base to follow!
Next was a small Skaven project, the Rat Ogres and their movement base. Again with the bases, but oh well.
The most ambitious project I have undertaken is still a work in progress. The Imperial Knight is an amazing kit, and I took this as an opportunity to magnetize all the weapon load-outs. Pretty interesting process, that adds a real layer to the building of the kit. More on magnetizing at some point down the road.
Again, these are work in progress shots from various stages this summer.
Another Imperial project that I started and finished in a few sessions was the old Commissar Yarrick model. He is a metal piece that made me appreciate the current range of plastics. No more ambiguous parts like with the metal casts. The side of Yarrick’s face was kind of a mystery that I just filled in as best I could.
Sticking with the IG theme, I was able to wrap up my Leman Russ tank. First one of a few for this allied contingent for my knight.
And finally, a humble power fisted sgt for my Dark Angels. Too many wraith constructs in my son’s Eldar army not to have at least AN option.
