The first full unit of Imperial Fists is finished. Painting a squad of 10 guys to as high a standard as I can manage is quite a challenge. This squad took the better part of a year and a half, painting 2–3 at a time.
I am really, really happy with the final result of the squad. All of that time was definitely worth it. Very few people paint this army because of how time consuming yellow is to get right. The number of layers that are needed to get smooth transitions can be a bit of a grind and 10 guys can make it seem endless. All of that sounds a bit dramatic, it is a hobby that I love after all.
Here you can see the squad markings, which if you read the last post about the big yellow guy (dreadnoght), they match. This is the 4th squad (IV) of the second company. The guy with the red helmet is the Sgt. and he has the II on his right shoulder pad, seen below.
The red trim on their pads also designate the 2nd company as well.
That’s all for now. I am going to build a new kit this weekend and then get going on more yellow.
