Multiple Project Update

I have been working on several things all at the same time over that last few weeks. I had gotten away from working on multiple projects lately, but I am not sure why. I really like the variety that comes from working on really different projects, because then when I sit down to paint, I have options. Maybe I am up for some painting that requires lots of concentration. Maybe I want to slap some base coats on and not be particularly neat. In any event it makes my painting table look quite eclectic (mix of a lot of different things).

So here is what we have this week.

Up first is a new project for the board game that my son and I play quite often. Here is a shot of the board to give you context.

Models move around on the hexes, trying to fulfill objectives that are on cards you draw during the game. Each fighter has attributes, most a combination of strengths and weaknesses. You can see the player cards in the bottom right of the picture above.

These projects are small, usually 3-7 models for the whole war band. Considering that armies in the full game have 40-100 models, these are a piece of cake to paint up.

My new war band are the Nighthaunts. These ghostly figures haunt the city where the game takes place. Here are the first two that I painted. The whole war band is only 7 models, so five more to go. They look appropriately spooky and ghostly I think. The blue glow paint job is actually quite easy and reasonably quick as well.

Up next is a project I finished for one of my oldest armies. These ratmen, or Skaven as they are known are not nice creatures. They dig and burrow beneath the cities and attack without warning, causing mayhem and death. These guys are snipers of sorts, siting behind the lines and taking out enemy commanders and wizards.

For the last picture today, I have a group of warriors that help make up one of my armies for the game that takes place 40,000 years in the future. These guys are part of the Tau, a race that is bent on conquering the galaxy and will do whatever necessary to accomplish that.
