Many projects are in various stages of completion are on my painting desk right now, from both the futuristic sic-fi game (Warhammer 40k) and the more fantasy type game (Warhammer: Age of Sigmar).
With the recent release of a new Tau Codex (rules manual) I have gone back and updated many of the models from that army with an updated paint job. As this is my second oldest army, going back to the lateĀ 90’s, there was quite a bit of work to do. First up was the Devilfish Transport.
This model needed an updated red scheme, so that it matched the Riptide that was painted last summer. I also decided to dirty it up a bit with an oil wash that will replicate water stains. It is in need of a satin varnish in the photo, the finished one will not be quite so shiny.
Staying with 40K, the Imperial Guard are next. I have slowly been building this army up to accompany my knight in games. 2000 points is my goal and I am pretty close.
This one is pre-oil wash as well. It will look much more battle-worn once I have beat it up some more.
My final project is a unit of 15 High Elf spearman. These 6 are the first batch. I love how the shields came out. I imagine that units like this would include soldiers from all over Ulthuan, so I decided to go with mixed heraldry.
