I have been working on some models for the new Marvel game that I am into and I have two of them to show today.
Captain America, America’s first and only “super soldiers” is on of my all time favorite super heroes. I have read a ton of Captain America comics and so getting a chance to paint him up is really exciting. The shield was where I really wanted to focus some attention, because I wanted it to look reflective and shiny, compared to the rest of his uniform.
I am really happy with how the final product came out. Painting a metallic look, without using metallic paints is something that I is a real challenge for model painters and I am slowly getting better at it. It attempts to make it look like the light is reflecting off the surface. In the end I think it came out pretty well.
Baron Zemo is a Nazi operative who has been fighting Captain America since WW2. A master strategist and swordsman, he is a worthy opponent to Cap. For Zemo, I attempted the metallic look on his sword, belt buckle, wrist guards and “crown”. The gold came out well and while the sword doesn’t look that reflective, it gives me something to work on for the next time.
These two are ready to battle it out on the streets of New York. Next up is Iron Man and Dr. Octopus.
