For Christmas, my family got me one of the latest games from the company that makes all of the models that I paint. The game is called Shadespire and it takes place within one of the fictional cities from the world where the main game (Age of Sigmar) takes place.
The premise is that warriors are trapped inside a city (Shadespire) that has been sealed by a great sorcerer and they need to collect pieces of Shadeglass in order to escape. Since those pieces are hard to come by, they end up battling with the warriors from other factions that are in the city.
There are two factions included in the box and I have completely finished one of them. The model count is low (only 3 in this first faction) so I can try techniques that I otherwise might not on a 30-50 model army.
Here are the finished models from the Stormcast Eternal faction. This includes the first female warrior for this entire range, something that has been sorely missing from the kits already released. The bases are something that I really like, as I used a dotting technique to make them look as close to real stone as possible.
One of the details that I could not have done on 15 shields for the army is the dents and scratches on the female warriors shield. The highlights and dark brown “dents” give the impression of a 3D surface, even though it is completely flat. This is my first time trying it and I am pretty pleased.
I have also been working on updating one of my oldest models/army. These models are from the Tau range, an alien race that is forcefully spreading its empire across the galaxy. These models were purchased before you were all born, in mid 2001!
I have been adding highlights and changing small things with the color scheme. I used the same dent technique on this unit. Pretty slow going, but it sure does look cool. On to the pictures:
Thats it for now. See you next time.
wow that looks awesome.
