Of all of my projects that I am currently working on, my Imperial Fists project is by far the most time consuming. Yellow is a really difficult color to work with and requires intense concentration, especially when painting other colors, because a single dot of any other color on top of yellow is going to mean a time consuming fix.
I began this army this summer and began with a small 5 man squad.
I was really happy with how these guys came out and was eager to get more finished. I did have to take a break for a few weeks before starting another set squad however to keep myself from burning out on the yellow.
Next up was some heavy support. These were some older models that I had, that had gone unpainted for years. I gave them a quick undercoat of yellow and off I went. This squad is still missing the Sgt, as I have not gotten around to painting him yet.
The army still needed a captain. That is where this week’s project comes in.
The Imperial Fists Captain really looks the part. He is decked out in the latest armor and has advanced weaponry. His cloak makes him stand out from the rest of the troops, as does his gleaming sword.
He is still being worked on, but I am getting close. I would say he is about 85% finished. Here he is.
I am hoping to finish him up before we move, although I am not totally confident that will happen. If I can get a few hours this weekend, I should be able to wrap him up. Stay tuned for more pictures next time.
These soldiers look very detailed. They look so cool. The pictures are very good!
