This week brings a mixed bag of completed projects to the site. The first is one of my most ambitious projects for my Imperial Fists army, mostly because of the size of the model and the shear amount of yellow involved. I may have said it before, but yellow is a really challenging color to paint well and the recipe for painting my yellow models.
That being said, I really enjoyed painting it and with the exception of decals (which I am going to do this weekend) it is just about finished.
Here are some photos of the finished model.
I worked really hard to softly blend the colors from where the model went from light to dark. It meant working with really thin layers, but it was a good kind of challenge.
The second set of models this week are some dwarves that I finished for a great small sided game called Shadespire. These tough warriors are good guys (believe it or not) and are honor bound to fight all the bad guys that they face in the depths of this forgotten city.
They are known for having runes of gold hammered into their skin, which you can see on the model. These runes give them ancient power when activated during a tough fight. I love the beards most of all and how they contrast with the rest of the models.
I liked the gold on the dwarfs. My dad liked their beards!
